Today OIB flew the Sea Ice – TanDEM-X B flight in excellent weather conditions, which marks our second under flight of the TanDEM-X spacecraft. All OIB instruments operated successfully, with only a few minor issues. So, another exciting sea ice mission in the books.
We are due for a hard-down day tomorrow, which will coincidentally allow us to celebrate (American) Thanksgiving here in Ushuaia. We will resume science flights on Friday/Saturday, and will prepare to head back to the US on Monday.
Below is a map of today’s flight, a photo of the peninsula by Alexey Chibisov, and a plot of ATM data over some sea ice we sampled today.
