OIB ATM sitrep Nov 17, 2016 pm

All,

The “English Coast 01” mission was successfully completed today. The survey area near the open water had a few cloud areas at the end of the flight lines near the open water, otherwise all interior survey lines were flown in clear conditions. All OIB remote sensing instruments reported good data collection today.

We had a 3 person Discovery Channel video crew led by Rory Kennedy onboard, as well as Carol Z. Perez (US ambassador to Chile) and her team, and NASA Associate Administrator Dava Newman.

We’ll attempt to fly a science mission tomorrow, weather permitting. This will be the last science mission attempt; over the weekend OIB will take one day to pack, and another day to load the aircraft for the return to Palmdale on Monday.
