The DC8 aircraft and OIB science teams have been very busy over the past few weeks, installing equipment and preparing the aircraft for the upcoming deployment.
Today the DC8 flew over the Pacific Ocean (far from any possible radio frequency interference) to check out the CReSIS radar systems. The CReSIS radar instrument folks reported a successful check out following the flight.
Folks will take a weekend break, and a mission is scheduled on Tuesday to test and calibrate the ATM lidars systems and multispectral, IR, and CAMBOT camera systems.
Next sitrep will likely be Tuesday morning.
