If you’re going to Antarctica (or the Arctic)…

Then do it right! It’s every day that you get to see such remote places (for most people). Here is a sample of the flights I’ve been on down (or up) there doing the science thing and monitoring the ice..

That was a lot of hours flying, to say the least..

It’s not easy to convey the way it feels to fly hundreds of hours in a plane staring at a screen, or fixing a computer, or relying on Ramen noodles to get you through an often 16 hour work day – but at least I have this to show for it. And, of course, all of the science behind it that will hopefully one day help us all.
