We had a smooth overnight flight to Santiago, and cleared customs and immigration fairly easily. After fueling and getting our rested aircrew onboard, the DC8 flew south along the Andes Mountains (unfortunately cloudy as it can be very scenic) to Punta Arenas. We arrived at Punta Arenas in the afternoon and will be getting settled in the hotel and resting.
Tomorrow we’ll unload the aircraft, set up science ground stations, and prepare the IceBridge remote sensing instruments for the first mission attempt on Wednesday.
