ATM OIB Sitrep 10/26/2016 PM

All,

Today we successfully flew “Pole Hole 88 West” with mostly clear weather along the data line along with an added bonus of some high altitude data during the transit portions (a lot of the transit had clouds below us, unfortunately).

On the way back we flew directly over the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, of which I’ve attached a high-resolution photo taken by DMS (Eric Fraim).   I’ve also attached an image of ATM data recorded at high altitude, somewhere in the vicinity of 28,000’ AGL during the transit.

Tomorrow we’ll repeat the process – we’ll show up in the AM and see if weather is suitable for another flight.

Until then,

-Rob
