Yesterday IceBridge (OIB) relocated from Thule Air Force Base in northwest Greenland down to Kangerlussuaq in southwest Greenland. The flight was quick and scenic, and gave us enough time to unpack and set up for a flight today. We settled in to our new dorm-style accommodations, which are very reminiscent of our previous stays in the Kangerlussuaq International Science Support building. The only hangup so far, is a lack of internet in our dorm, which will hopefully be fixed in the next day or so. Otherwise, we are making ourselves comfortable for the last few weeks of the spring deployment here in Kangerlussuaq.
Today the weather was clear in southeast Greenland and allowed us to fly a baseline priority mission, Southeast Coastal. There were a few bumps near the north ends of the coast-parallel lines (one that knocked out the narrow-scan ATM for a few minutes), but otherwise we enjoyed a smooth and uneventful flight. We will attempt another flight tomorrow, and then will take a hard-down day on Sunday
Below are two plots from the flight today.
